Parents of Birdville school district grade school students are suing a charter bus company after their children saw porn on television monitors while boarding the bus last spring.

In a lawsuit filed in Tarrant County civil court against the Executive Coach Inc., the parents alleged that their children were emotionally harmed and that the bus company was negligent after they saw videos on the monitors as they boarded the bus for a trip to a nearby ranch.

Officials from the bus company couldn’t be reached for comment Friday, and attorneys for the parents did not return calls seeking comment.

The students attend Walker Creek Elementary School, which chartered the bus last spring. The district was not named in the lawsuit.

The suit alleges that children were boarding the bus on April 9 for a field trip to the Skye Ranch when a pornographic movie began playing on television monitors.

“The movie displayed graphic sexual acts and conduct that was outrageous, shocking and disturbing to the children,” the lawsuit stated.

At the time, Birdville officials said they were “appalled” by what happened and that the children were immediately removed from the bus.

In their lawsuit, the parents claim that the bus company was negligent in that it did not train its drivers properly and that the company had porn videos playing on the monitors.

The parents are also asking for damages more than $200,000 but not to exceed $51 million, according to the suit.
