Investigators are trying to find witnesses to a fatal hit-and-run Wednesday in south Fort worth.

James Walker, 51, of Fort Worth was struck around 1 a.m. at 9908 Crowley Road, about 1.5 miles south of his home.

“Investigators believe that someone traveling southbound struck the pedestrian, who was standing in the southbound lanes,” said Officer Sharron Neal, a police spokeswoman. “The operator of this vehicle failed to stop and render aid to the victim.”

Failure to stop and render aid is a third-degree felony, punishable by up to five years in prison.

A side mirror was broken off and left at the scene. Investigators believe it may have been attached to a metallic burgundy Toyota Scion, Neal said.

Anyone with information can call investigators at 817-393-4890, or Crime Stoppers at 817-469-8477.
