The NFL will limit the size and type of bags that may be brought into league stadiums, including AT&T Stadium in Arlington, this season. The Dallas Cowboys host their first preseason game on Saturday night against Cincinnati.

The measure was put in place to enhance safety inside and outside the stadium and speed the security screening process for all NFL fans.

There are no limitations on tailgating items.

Here is a sample of items that are permissible under the new measure:

• Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12 inches x 6 inches x 12 inches.

• One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).

• Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the stadium with one of the clear plastic bag options.

• Binoculars or a phone or camera can be carried into the stadium so long as they are not in their own bag.

• Diapers can be carried in a clear bag.

• An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose.

Here is a sample of some items, but not all, that are prohibited under the new measure:

• Purses larger than a clutch bag

• Coolers

• Briefcases

• Backpacks

• Fanny packs

• Cinch bags

• Seat cushions

• Luggage of any kind

• Computer bags

• Camera bags

• Any bag larger than the permissible size
