A man and woman have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting last month of a 32-year-old man at a far east Fort Worth apartment complex.

Investigators believe Ly’Shyla Alvarez Schoonover, 25, and Chauncey McCallum, 29, went to the Arbors Apartments in the 3700 block of Vaucluse Drive near Dallas-Fort Worth Airport on the night of July 15 in search of the victim, 32-year-old Lawrence Gomez. Gomez had been visiting others at the complex.

“They came to the door looking for him,” said homicide Sgt. Cheryl Johnson. “He went outside a short time later.”

Outside the apartment, Schoonover and McCallum approached and fired numerous shots at Gomez, striking him twice in the chest.

Gomez died a short time later at a hospital.

The suspects, including another man whom police are still trying to locate, fled. Johnson declined to comment on a suspected motive in the shooting.

Schoonover, who describes herself on various social media and modeling websites as a mother of two, model and former massage spa owner, was arrested Thursday. She remained held Monday in the Mansfield jail with bail set at $250,000.

McCallum is accused of committing two other crimes in the days after Gomez’s slaying.

In Arlington, court records show, McCallum is accused of shooting Chad Casey, 27, multiple times while in the course of robbing Casey and a woman. Prosecutors have filed two charges of aggravated robbery against him in that shooting.

Later that day, Irving police conducted a traffic stop and arrested McCallum on suspicion of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

He was being held in the Irving jail when Fort Worth police added the murder case against him Friday.

He has since been transferred to the Dallas County Jail, where he remained held Monday. Bail in the murder case is set at $250,000, jail records show.
