Church hosts grief support class

First Methodist Mansfield will offer Journey through Grief, a grief support class, from 6:30-8 p.m. starting Sept. 9 in A&E 220 in the A&E Building. This six-week class provides a Christian environment to help those grieving to understand and integrate loss into their lives.

First Baptist offers flag football, cheerleading

Registration is open for flag football and Upward cheerleading until Aug. 24 at First Baptist Church Mansfield. The cost is $95. The cost includes a jersey, shorts, flags, car magnet and end-of-season awards.

All players must attend evaluations, which will be held from 5-7 p.m. Aug. 19 and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 24. This is not a tryout. A child’s performance will not alter their playing time. Practices begin the week of Sept. 2, with the season running Sept. 14-Nov. 1.

Bilingual services held at Bible church

Mansfield Bible Church provides a ministry for Hispanics who want to address their bilingual family needs. Adults can choose complete programs either in English or Spanish. Ministries in Spanish include an 11 a.m. Sunday worship service, weekly Life Groups in homes, discipleship studies, family fellowships and community service projects.

Walnut Ridge slates summer day camps

Walnut Ridge Baptist Church is hosting a series of day camps to keep children active throughout the summer. Get more details or register online at

Fit camp is set for 8:30-11:30 a.m. Aug. 12-15. Cost is $55 per child. Kindergartners through fourth-graders will play a variety of games and fitness activities and learn to make good food choices.

St. Jude plans monthly Bingo

St. Jude Catholic Church will now offer Bingo every month instead of every other month. Bingo packets are $25 to play 14 games. Cover all guarantee payout is $300.

The hall opens at 6 p.m. with first call at 6:30 p.m. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Upcoming dates for Bingo are Sept. 14, Oct. 12, Nov. 9 and Dec. 14 at the St. Jude Parish Hall on the corner of Graves and Dallas streets.
