Aaron Wilkerson scattered five hits over five innings, and three relievers shut down San Angelo for four innings as the Fort Worth Cats beat the Colts 6-2 on Sunday at LaGrave Field.

Matt Eshleman, Matt Redding and T.J. Bozeman didn’t allow a hit — with only Redding giving up a walk — in the final four innings combined. Wilkerson (9-1) struck out six while allowing two earned runs in the first inning.

The Colts couldn’t muster anything off Cats pitchers from there. Fort Worth’s five-run second inning took care of the rest as a 5-2 lead held up.

San Angelo starter B.J. Hyatt (2-1) exited after 1 1/3 rocky innings despite allowing just two hits. His five walks led to five earned Cats runs.

Down 2-0, Fort Worth made it 2-1 in the second when Hyatt hit a batter with the bases loaded. He then walked in a run for 2-2, and David Bergin’s two-run single made it 4-2.

Luany Sanchez later drew a bases-loaded walk for 5-2.
