Many modern-day women may feel as naked without their cellphone as they do without their diamond studs. Swiss designer Alessandro Savelli’s ingenious new luxury smartphone is designed with these women in mind. Handmade in Switzerland using precious metals and crafted stones such as 18-karat rose gold, Ultra-Bombe sapphire crystals and sparkling white diamonds, the 11 models in the debut Jardin Secret Savelli Smartphone collection are exquisite pieces of jewelry, powered by the Google Android operating system. There’s one for every personal style, in one of three categories: the contemporary Elegante, the striking Precieuse and, our favorite, the splendid, diamond-studded Merveilleuse . Each phone is designed to fit the curves of a woman’s hand. They’re wrapped in exotic leather and are protected with high-tech, nonscratchable ceramic, and they play ringtones specially mixed by France’s of-the-moment DJ, Stéphane Pompougnac. With a product this special, it’s no wonder Savelli commissioned the famed Patrick Demarchelier to shoot the official marketing campaign photography. Currently available only through European department stores Harrods in London and Printemps in Paris, the phones are priced from $8,990 to $119,000. For inquiries, visit www.savelli-geneve.com.
