A very important deadline is fast approaching for those seeking to complete their GED, advises Weatherford College Director of Testing Lela Morris.

The GED test is scheduled to convert to a totally computer-based test Jan. 1, 2014.

“And if those testing for the GED have not completed and made the required scores in all five tests by Dec. 31, they will be required to start over,” Morris said.

To accommodate as many testers as possible, the WC Testing Center has scheduled computer-based testing Aug. 1 and Aug. 29 and Sept. 5, 12, 19 and 26. The fee is $135, and scores are available immediately, except for the writing test. Anyone interested should go to www.GEDcomputer.com.

“I administered our first online GED on July 18,” Morris said. “We had seven new people and all seven passed. They all commented about loving the convenience of the online test.”

Space is limited; anyone needing to test should register and test as soon as possible. Testing will be ending by the end of November. Paper-based testing does require in person pre-registration, and the cost is $90.00.
