The Tarrant County Back to School Roundup, which provides free school supplies for students from low-income families, has extended its registration deadline to today.

Preregistration is required. People may register from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Tarrant County Resource Center, 1100 Circle Drive in Fort Worth.

The roundup is Wednesday at Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth for students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12 in Tarrant County public schools.

The event will also include haircuts, backpacks, immunizations, dental and health screenings and education information.

To register, families should bring photo identification, proof of residency and proof of income. If they qualify, they will get vouchers for admission. Individuals without admission vouchers will not be allowed in the event, officials have said.

The original registration deadline was Aug. 2.

“We still have some spots remaining so we wanted to make sure as many families as possible can take advantage of Roundup,” said Becky Mayad, a spokeswoman.
