In response to “Please explain” (June 27), how can New York cut insurance premiums by 50 percent under Obamacare?

First, how can such a statement be made when it hasn’t been implemented? Secondly, 50 percent of what premium?

Any plan can be cut if you want to cut the benefits or get the taxpayer to foot 50 percent of the bill. So I wouldn’t get too excited about the statement. I’m pretty confident it’s mostly politically motivated.

Lastly, anyone can buy insurance today. The big difference is who’s going to pay for it?
