TCU volleyball coach Prentice Lewis announced the addition of former Horned Frog Lauren Otto as assistant coach on the staff.“Being part of the best team ever in TCU history, I expect her to bring that same kind of dedication and competitiveness to her position as assistant coach,” Lewis said of Otto. “Her ties with great local clubs and high schools will have prepared her to be successful in this position.” Otto, an Arlington native, joins the Horned Frogs after spending the last three years as a high school coach in Texas. Otto had stints at Arlington Sequin, Centennial and Richland high schools. Otto played in 117 matches and appeared in 427 sets between 2006-09. She helped lead the team to its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2009. Briefly • Oregon State basketball: Devon Collier and Eric Moreland have been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules. Coach Craig Robinson declined to say which rules were violated when announcing the suspensions. • UConn women’s basketball: President Barack Obama honored the University of Connecticut women’s basketball team Wednesday, calling its players incredible athletes, outstanding women, and role models on and off the court. Obama welcomed the Huskies at a White House ceremony commemorating their eighth NCAA championship. In April the Huskies defeated Louisville 93-60 in the tournament final.
