A pedestrian killed late Saturday on Interstate 30 as she attempted to cross the freeway has been identified as Brandi Nicole Danley of Fort Worth, police said Monday.

Danley, 41, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

The driver of a 1988 Jeep that hit Danley has been arrested in the case. He was identified as Eliazar Rivera, 47, of Grand Prairie and remained in the Grand Prairie Jail on Monday in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Rivera faces a charge of intoxication manslaughter, police said.

The fatality occurred about 11 p.m. Saturday on eastbound Interstate 30 near Northwest 7th Street.

Rivera was eastbound in his Jeep when his vehicle hit the woman, police said. She was trying to cross the highway, police said.

It was the 16th traffic fatality in the city this year.

Officers determined that Rivera was intoxicated and took him into custody at the scene, police said.
