A call for appeal

The Supreme Court's decision of 1973 guaranteeing abortion rights has been eviscerated, and our Democratic leaders need to appeal this verdict.

Gov. Perry has made this his piece de resistance and his signature legislation prior to leaving office. His administration has opposed women’s rights while thousands of people are hungry, need medical care and are without employment. Yet Perry just marches on, determined to stamp out abortions.

He doesn’t pass the litmus test for compassion or integrity anymore, so his sage decision not to seek re-election is apropos. What a relief.
