A 16-year-old acquaintance of a teen who was found slain in Glenwood Park in May has been arrested in connection with the slaying.

The boy, who is not being identified because he is a juvenile, was arrested Friday on a murder warrant and turned over to juvenile authorities, according to Sgt. Kelly Peel, a police spokesman.

Nicholas Anderson, 17, was found dead May 15 in some bushes at the city park in the 900 block of Riverside Drive, hours after, family members say, he had told his girlfriend he was going to meet a friend but would be right back. He died from massive blunt force trauma to his head, the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office determined.

His car, minus its radio, was found a short time later.

Police say the 16-year-old suspect in the slaying is the friend Anderson had apparently been meeting.

Officials declined to say whether robbery is the suspected motive.
