Police appealed for help Tuesday in finding the killer of a 26-year-old woman who was found dead in her apartment on July 6.

Authorities released a photograph of the victim, Elisa “Kiki” Johnson, on Tuesday in hopes of getting leads in her slaying.

Officers discovered Johnson when her 3-year-old daughter led authorities to her body at the Williamsburg Apartments in the 2400 block of South Carrier Parkway.

Officers had gone to the complex shortly after 9:30 a.m. on July 6 after receiving reports that the 3-year-old had been found walking around in the complex parking lot.

The little girl, who was not hurt, showed officers where she lived, police said. Johnson and her daughter were the only ones living in the apartment at the time, authorities said.

A door to the family’s apartment was partially open, Det. Mark Beseda said in a news release Tuesday.

A cause of death is pending, but Beseda said Tuesday that it was a homicide.

Detectives believe Johnson’s last contact with anyone was between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. on July 3.

Authorities are asking residents to call police if they saw any suspicious activity at the apartment complex before she was found on the morning of July 6.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 972-988-8477 or Grand Prairie police at 972-237-8877.
