Local business leaders will recognize multifaceted women at The Colleyville Chamber of Commerce fourth annual Empowered Woman event.

“We really wanted to showcase empowered women in the workplace,” said Jenna M. Waters, chamber president. “Women who have come up from nothing and are now CEOs or entrepreneurs and celebrate that spirit of women...”

The event, scheduled today at 10 a.m., features lunch, prizes, shopping and guest speaker Sharon Schieffer Mayes.

“When you talk about multifaceted women you talk about women who are successful in business, have a family life, volunteer though the women’s club,” she said. “They just have it all.”

Schieffer Mayes, the director of Penrose Foundation, will speak about the importance of education and inspiring children.
