Cats’ bats go quiet in loss to Edinburg

Maximino De la Cruz and Alex Schmarzo combined on a three-hitter, leading Edinburg to a 5-1 victory over the Fort Worth Cats on Saturday night.

De la Cruz gave up one hit and walked none in six innings.

Agustine Septimo, Trevor Whyte and Ryde Rodriguez each had two hits and an RBI as the Roadrunners built a 4-0 lead into the eighth inning.

The Cats finally scored in the eighth inning on an error, a walk and a single by Chris Ellison.
