The 2012 Outland went to Texas A&M’s Luke Joeckel, an Arlington High School graduate.

Others on the 2013 watch list include A&M OT Jake Matthews, Texas Tech OT Le’Raven Clark, Texas Tech DT Kenny Hyder, Texas OG Trey Hopkins and Texas OG Mason Walters.

TCU pitcher takes loss

TCU pitcher Brandon Finnegan (2-1) took the loss after surrendering the go-ahead runs as the U.S. Collegiate National Team lost to Japan 7-4 Thursday in the fifth and deciding game of a friendly series in Tokyo.

Finnegan entered in the fourth inning and gave up a hit and a walk in two-thirds of an inning. Riley Ferrell of TCU struck out two in a perfect inning of relief.

TCU’s Jim Schlossnagle has coached the U.S. team to a 13-3 record overall.
