Aaron Wilkerson struck out 11 in seven innings as the Fort Worth Cats defeated the San Angelo Colts 4-1 Wednesday night.

Wilkerson allowed only five hits and one run in shutting down the Colts for the second time in six days. On Friday, he also allowed only one run, a leadoff home run, in seven innings in an 8-2 victory.

Wes Alsup closed out the Cats’ win Wednesday with two innings of perfect relief, striking out three.

Offensively, the first-place Cats (30-16) scored a run in each of the first three innings. David Bergin led Fort Worth, going 2 for 3 with two RBIs. He singled in a run in the first and doubled in a run in the eighth.

Cody Bishop’s two-out single scored the Cats’ run in the second. Chris Ellison had an RBI single in the third, scoring Daniel Meeley, who had led off with a double.
