The Weatherford Art Association announced the June Artist of the Month winning entries at the monthly meeting.

Artist of the Month of June first place was awarded to Kathy Cunning for her watercolor, '58 Chevy. Kathy's work will be on display at the Fort Worth Community Credit Union after the Peach Festival.

Second place was awarded to Debra Sue Waters with a color pencil drawing titled, 'Draft Horse." Debra's work will be on display at the 1st National Bank on Palo Pinto after the Peach Festival.

The guest demonstration artist was Fort Worth western artist Randy Meadors. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma and an aspiring athlete, Randy began painting after hearing a quote by Winston Churchill," When I paint, nothing else matters."

Randy painted as an escape and being a competitive sort, he painted until he got good at it, and now paints full-time. Randy's demo was a watercolor portrait of Steve Murrin.
