Election choices

Just read a comment from Fabeuless in Sunday’s “Talkback” referencing the redistricting fight, and I quote: “Voters choose the politicians; politicians do not choose their voters.”

Pardon me if I am wrong, but exactly what does anyone think “redistricting” — or more specifically, “gerrymandering” — involves?

It is redrawing districts to their advantage, so their party stays in power, even if it means making sure that people that might vote against them have no real chance of having their choice elected.

This is the antithesis of democracy.
