The Fort Worth Cats played small ball to the hilt, scoring all their runs without an extra-base hit, and defeated the San Angelo Colts 8-2 on Friday night at La Grave Field.With the victory, the first-place Cats (27-15) dropped the Colts to third place, five games back in the United Baseball League.Shelby Ford, who went 3 for 5, had the Cats’ only extra-base hit, a double, in a scoreless eighth. David Bergin also went 3 for 5.Aaron Wilkerson scattered seven hits over seven innings for the victory. He walked four.The Cats used three walks and four singles in a five-run fifth to build an 8-1 lead. Fort Worth scored twice in the first and once in the second.In the fifth, Ryan Miller singled in two runs, and Chris Christopoulous and Cameron Monger each had run-scoring singles. The Cats scored twice in the first. Ford had an RBI single after singles by Monger and Chris Ellison. Ellison later scored on a double play.
