Dear Editor:

Mayor [David] Kelly and [Mayor Pro Tem] Mike Taylor are determined to impose unwanted and nonsensical community development projects on residents at taxpayer expense.

Worse, they are committed to collecting and redistributing individual residents’ taxes without referendum to fund these initiatives.

Please visit colleyville.com and watch the webcast of Section 7 of this week’s council meeting — particularly my presentation, and Mike Taylor’s mea culpa rant. Mike skewers the communication of the ridiculous policy that forces residents to construct sidewalks they don’t even want, creating our laughable and ugly “Sidewalks to Nowhere” problem. He then votes to support the policy anyway.

The communication is deliberately poor. If residents understood what David and Mike are up to they would have a big problem with the intrusive infringement on individual property rights, and redistribution of “sidewalk tax” money from impacted property owners.
