Looks like even Mother Nature wants to celebrate the Independence Day in Mansfield.“The high is going to be 90, the low is going to be 68, so it’s going to be perfect weather,” said Angie Henley, cultural arts/special events coordinator. “I don’t know that we’ve ever had a 4th of July that is going to be 90 degrees.”Mansfield will celebrate from 7-10 p.m. Wednesday at the annual Rockin’ 4th of July at Big League Dreams sports complex.The free event will feature 11 bounce houses, a smash car, carnival games, a foam pit, a chance to color a mural for the military in Iraq, game truck, a 25-minute fireworks show and live music from Professor D, a Top 40 cover band.“We have a great band and extra entertainment for the kids,” Henley said. “They are going to love Professor D. They are playing stuff that the whole family is going to know.”The band will play from 7:45-9:15 p.m., followed by the fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. Food and beverages will be available in the park’s Diamond Club and four other food stations. Pets, coolers, ice chests and fireworks will not be allowed, but lawn chairs, blankets, sunscreen, insect repellent and cash for food and drinks are advised.No parking will be available at Big League Dreams. Free parking and shuttles will be at Newsom Stadium, 3700 E. Broad St. starting at 6:45 p.m.
