Mansfield FFA brings home awards

The Autobahn Youth Scholarship Tour is unique to the cattle industry and is the standard by which other breeds are seeking to invest in the future of youth. On June 13, Hannah Murphy took 13 Mansfield FFA students to participate in the Autobahn Youth Tour Scholarship Program. All students who showed up to participate received an automatic $100 in scholarship, even though their entry fee was $25. The events were art, relay, essay, quiz and livestock judging. On June 14, she took nine for the speech contest.

Here are the results: John Boyett $100; Jamie Shannon $100; Jessica Young $100; Hannah Twardowski $100, relay winner $400; Keki Johnson $100, seventh-place essay $100; Ridge Logan $100, relay winner $400; Daniel Wolffe $100; Matthew Wolffe $100; Brittnie Wyss $100, relay winner $400; Taylor Morenzetti $100, third-place Art Teen Division $250; Jordan Moyle $100; Brianna Thompson $100, eighth-place short course $100; Mia Garcia $100, eighth-place speech contest $200; and Beau Billings $100, relay winner $400, third-place art $250, sixth-place essay $100, seventh-place speech $200.

Congratulations to Beau Billings for being the big winner! He worked incredibly hard and came to all practices. Also, John Boyett received an honorable mention in art, and Jamie Shannon, Jessica Young and Keki Johnson placed in the top 15 for livestock judging in the senior division.

Manfield FFA brought home approximately $4,200.
