Cats’ offense erupts to beat Rio Grande Valley 10-4

Greg Bachman homered and added two RBIs in a three-hit night and the Fort Worth Cats’ offense punished the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings 10-4 Friday night at La Grave Field.

Eric Sheridan scattered eight hits over six innings, allowing three runs to get the win for the Cats, who never trailed and had three three-run innings.

Hector Contin threw two innings of one-run relief and Wes Alsup finished with a scoreless ninth for the Cats.

Daniel Meeley had three RBIs with a double and a triple for the Cats, who built a 7-0 lead after four innings.

The Cats go on an eight-game road trip next that begins with a four-game series against Edinburg starting at 7:05 tonight.

Canseco’s return

Jose Canseco has signed to play one more game for the Cats, on the road against Edinburg tonight. He will play against his brother, Ozzie, the Road-runners’ manager.
