Perhaps a female pope

I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry when I read that Monsignor James Hart was cutting ties with the Boy Scouts of America at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Keller. (See: “Area churches ponder affiliation with Scouting,” Tuesday)

What was the monsignor thinking? That’s because the Boy Scouts of America are allowing openly gay boys to participate in Scouting? If the boys stay in the closet, would that be OK? What is his position on gay priests in the church? Has he taken a stance on the convicted pedophiles in his organization?

One way to take away this cloud would be to make women equal in all matters of church authority, including women priests and someday a female pope.
