Plains Capital Bank in Weatherford has announced a $50,000 pledge to support Weatherford College’s “The Time is Now For Your College” capital campaign.

“We have strong ties to the College, and we know this investment will pay dividends to the future of students and the future of our community,” said Plains Capital Weatherford President Pat Hamilton.

Hamilton served on the WC Board of Trustees for 22 years, including several years as board chairman. Plains Capital Executive Vice President Bob Glenn is the treasurer of the WC Foundation Board of Directors and is serving as the chairman of the capital campaign. Both are WC alumni.

In recognition of the gift, the WC Board of Trustees has named a geology lab in the new Academic Building the Plains Capital Bank Geology Laboratory.

“This is a significant gift, and we appreciate not only Plains Capital’s generosity, but their willingness to get involved as individuals to support Weatherford College,” said Brent Baker, WC vice president of institutional advancement.

WC’s “The Time is Now for Your College” campaign is raising funds to support WC scholarships, facilities upgrades and other projects to benefit the college and its students.
