A 20-year-old Midlothian man died Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle wreck on Texas 360 on the far south side of Mansfield.

Charlse Daniel Carfrey, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene near the intersection of Texas 360 and Lone Star Road, said Officer Thad Penkala, a police spokesman.

The wreck was reported about 2 p.m. at the intersection, which is in the portion of Mansfield that extends into northwest Ellis County.

Carfrey was the driver of a Chevrolet passenger car that was southbound on Texas 360, Penkala said.

Witnesses told police that the driver of the car lost control, crossed the center line and collided with a northbound Honda sport utility vehicle, Penkala said.

“The male driver of the Honda SUV sustained serious injuries and was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital via air ambulance,” Penkala said.

The condition of the SUV driver, a 62-year-old man from Venus, could not be learned Wednesday evening.

Penkala said the wreck was still under investigation Wednesday.
