Cameron Monger’s two-out, two-RBI single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh gave the Fort Worth Cats a 4-3 walkoff win in Game 1 of their doubleheader against the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings on Wednesday night at LaGrave Field.

The Cats trailed 3-1 going into the sixth inning, but Kori Melo hit a leadoff single Shelby Ford doubled him home three batters later and pull the Cats within one.

T.J. Bozeman (3-0), who relieved starter Cole Stephens in the sixth, earned the win.

In Game 2, Rio Grande Valley scored six runs in the top of the sixth inning for a 7-0 lead and then had to hang on as the Cats scratched across five runs in the bottom of the seventh before losing 7-5.

Monger had a run-scoring triple in the seventh among his three hits in the second game for Fort Worth. Greg Bachman drove in the Cats’ final run of the game with a two-out triple in the seventh.
