Colleyville Heritage High School Principal Joe Harrington has accepted a position with the Hurst-Euless-Bedford district as assistant superintendent of secondary education. He has been with the Grapevine-Colleyville district for one year.

H-E-B trustees approved Harrington’s hire during a board meeting Tuesday.

Grapevine-Colleyville trustees hired Harrington as principal of Colleyville Heritage in May 2012 from the Northwest school district. During his nine years at Northwest, he was a middle school principal, associate principal for curriculum and instruction, and an assistant principal at Northwest High School.

Grapevine-Colleyville officials said the search for a replacement will begin immediately and will include input from school staff, parents and members of the community.

They offered no other comments about Harrington’s departure.

School begins Aug. 26 in the Grapevine-Colleyville district.
