Could’ve been avoided

Why is a person allowed to accumulate $3,400 in traffic fines? It seems that this should have been rectified when the fines totaled $500, or another artificial number agreeable to the sheriff.

Why not suspend the driver’s license when the magic number is reached? Incarcerate the person if he/she receives another violation.

I realize that costs are associated with any type of resolution, but I would hope it could be accomplished for far less than what 10 days in the Mansfield jail costs. If you don’t continually break the law, this can be entirely avoided!
