Flower Mound is a city of 70,000 people and growing every day. There are hundreds of new housing units that have recently gone up, are going up or are slotted to go up.

There are six tennis courts in Flower Mound that outside professionals use for teaching at a fee, while tax-paying tennis players head to Richland Hills, Southlake, Carrollton, Dallas and Coppell to get in a game or practice.

It is beyond comprehension why Flower Mound has over many years refused to spend the funds to build a tennis center. There is still a lot of undeveloped land in Flower Mound, but driving through it you will notice that is not for long.

It is time to step up and build a tennis center of 12 to 20 courts. The resistance at times seems personal, Why would someone hate tennis?
