Parker County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man after responding to two domestic disturbance calls June 4.

Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said the incident leading to the suspect’s arrest occurred in the 3800 block of Mineral Wells Highway.

Two complainants, identified as the suspect’s father and stepmother, reported over the past two days, the suspect, identified as Dustin Michael Crum, 19, of Weatherford, had threatened to kill them using a machete.

Deputies initially responded to a similar incident earlier that Tuesday morning, where the suspect’s father told deputies the suspect had threatened him and his wife several times via phone calls and in person at the suspect’s place of employment. The victim recorded the phone threats.

The suspect had fled the scene before deputies arrived.

Deputies were again dispatched to the victim’s residence around 8 p.m. in reference to a second disturbance. \

Deputies arrived on scene and found Crum inside a vehicle in the driveway entry of the residence. Sheriff’s reports state Crum was in possession of an 18-inch machete.

He was arrested without further incident and charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon and two additional charges of terroristic threat/family violence.

The victims reported they were fearful Crum would follow through with the threats and wished to file charges against Crum.

Deputies took possession of the machete, which was logged in as evidence. The case will be filed with the Parker County Attorney’s Office for consideration of prosecution. As of press time, Crum remained incarcerated at the Parker County Jail. His bond had not been set.

Sheriff’s investigators said additional charges may be filed pending the ongoing investigation.
