SPRINGTOWN — An Azle man was in custody Monday after deputies detected the smell of burnt marijuana on him as he walked along a road in Springtown early Sunday, authorities said.Parker County deputies seized seven baggies that contained what they suspect is marijuana from the suspect’s vehicle, which was nearby, deputies said.Authorities identified the suspect as Cameron Swink, 20, of Azle.While on patrol about 2:30 a.m. Sunday, deputies said they observed Swink and another man walking toward a vehicle in the 4000 block of Midway Road.“They stopped to investigate and possibly lend assistance,” Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said in a news release. “They observed a strong odor consistent with that of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle and individuals.”Deputies questioned Swink and the other man and observed two bags of what they thought was marijuana on the floorboard. Swink admitted to deputies that the baggies belonged to him, they said. Deputies recovered five more baggies of the product in a portable safe, they said. Digital scales also were found in the vehicle.Swink was arrested at the scene; the other man was released. Swink was in the Parker County Jail in Weatherford on Monday with bail set at $10,000. He faces a charge of possession of marijuana over four ounces.
