TCU quarterback Casey Pachall has been sentenced to 12 months probation for drunken driving, the TCU student media website reported Monday.

The sentence overlaps the 2013 football season, which means Pachall will need permission from a probation officer to leave Tarrant County, TCU 360 reported.

Pachall was arrested Oct. 4 on suspicion of driving while intoxicated near the TCU campus. Coach Gary Patterson suspended him from the team, but he was reinstated in January.

Pachall pleaded guilty in March to the drunken driving charge, a class A misdemeanor.

The conditions of probation include reporting directly to a community supervision officer and attending DWI education program and victim impact panel. He also must not use, sell or possess any illegal substances, nor refuse a blood, breath, urine or field sobriety tests.

Also, he must not operate a vehicle unless it’s equipped with an ignition interlock device that detects whether he has been drinking. — Bill Miller
