The Fort Worth Cats scored four runs in the eighth inning to rally past San Angelo 5-4 Saturday night at LaGrave Field.

Trailing 4-1 in the eighth, hope was fading for the Cats (10-5) until Kori Melo drew a two-out walk and scored two batters late on a Shelby Ford single that chased San Angelo starter Brain Murphy.

But after just two pitches from reliever Cephas Howard, the United League-leading Cats had the lead when Kyle Pearson hit a three-run home run.

Early in the game however, San Angelo (7-8) had control of the game. The Colts roughed up Cats starter Jeff Sakowski for three runs on four hits in the first two innings, including a balk in the second that scored the third run.

The Cats, who are 5-5 in their last 10 games, narrowed the score to 3-1 in the third when Daniel Meeley hit a two-run homer.

Chad Robinson recorded his first win, giving up no runs on one hit while striking out three in 22/3 innings and Boomer Potts recorded to final out for his third save.
