ARLINGTON A man was shot to death late Wednesday in his Arlington driveway after he received a telephone call to meet someone outside of his home, police said.

The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office identified the victim as Donsha Hughes, 19.

The shooting occurred about 11 p.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of Brooklawn Drive.

Witnesses told police that the man received a telephone call from someone, telling him to go outside, said Sgt. Christoper Cook on Thursday.

As the victim stood on his driveway, he was shot, Cook said.

“He managed to run back inside of his home,” Cook said. “His family then called 911.”

The man was taken to a local hospital where he died.

“Investigators believe the victim knew the suspect,” Cook said.

Cook said that the killing on Brooklawn Drive was not related to the slaying of 83-year-old Leona Swafford who was carjacked on Tuesday morning from her Sussex Drive driveway and then killed.
