Claire Huangci’s semifinal performances are done.

Now the waiting begins.

It will be another day and half before the finalists are announced and Huangci said she plans to take the rest of the day off even though she’s nervous.

“That’s the scary time for me,” Huangci said. “Usually, I’m quite calm but this time the announcement will be quite different.”

One thing she does plan to do before the announcement is listen to her afternoon performance of the Dvorak piano quintet in A major with the Brentano quartet. Huangci said she hasn’t listened to any of her previous Cliburn performances on the competition’s website.

“I want to listen to this one,” Huangci said. “I felt like I could do anything up there.”
