Grab your cameras or your iPhones and show us your best shot of Mansfield! The News-Mirror wants to see how you see your community. This summer, we’re sponsoring the My Mansfield Photo Contest, asking amateurs and pro photographers to show us how you see Mansfield -- whether it’s children playing in the park, a historic site, a special sunset or interesting angle.

The contest will have weekly winners whose photos will appear in the News-Mirror. Weekly winners will also receive a gift certificate from a local business. At the end of the summer, we’ll have a display of all the winners in a special My Mansfield photo exhibit. We will also feature as many entries as possible on our website,

Here’s the specifics: Photos must be high-resolution jpegs, at least 200 dpi and at least 8 inches wide, and submitted by noon Friday to to be considered for that week’s contest. The photographer’s name, address, e-mail and phone number must accompany each photo. Photos must be taken in Mansfield.

The contest will run today through Aug. 23, with winners featured in the June 12-Aug. 28 newspapers. Family members of News-Mirror or Star-Telegram employees are not eligible.
