Alejandrina Guzman, the teen who overcame a rare condition that prevented her from growing taller than 2 feet 8 inches, graduated with honors Thursday night from Azle High School.

Guzman, who was featured in a Star-Telegram article in October about being voted the school’s homecoming queen, was among the top 10 percent in her class of more than 360 students and a Texas Scholar Graduate.

The commencement ceremony was held at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
