The Fort Worth Cats split a doubleheader with the McAllen Thunder on Thursday night at LaGrave Field, shutting out McAllen 3-0 in Game 2 after dropping the opener 4-3.

The Cats had the tying run in scoring position in the seventh inning in Game 1 before Shelby Ford flied out to end it.

In Game 2, Eric Sheridan (2-0) allowed just one hit while striking out nine.
