A woman who got the nickname “Grinch” last Christmas season after being accused of stealing holiday decorations from homes in Aledo is in trouble again.

Dana Lanette Brock, 44, was in the Parker County Jail Thursday accused of stealing items from an Aledo garage.

Deputies were called at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday to a house in the 100 block of Inglewood Drive, according to a news release from Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler.

The resident showed them video surveillance images taken about 1:15 a.m. Tuesday of a woman entering his garage and removing a pressure washer and a gas-operated weed eater.

Deputies immediately recognized the woman as Brock, the news release said. And they knew where to find her.

Deputies went to the house where she was arrested last December on suspicion of stealing holiday decorations. That address — in the 100 block of Rim Rock Road — is about a mile northwest of the house that was broken into early Tuesday.

“Sheriff’s deputies made contact with Brock, who implicated herself in the theft,” according to the news release. “The stolen items were recovered at Brock’s residence.”

A similar video recorded Brock removing Christmas decorations in December. She had been free on $1,000 bail for misdemeanor theft of property $50-$500.

On Thursday, she was being held on the new felony charge of burglary of a habitation, with bail set at $20,000 on that charge.

She was also being held without bond on an earlier charge of assault/family violence with a previous conviction. Court records show she is scheduled for a jury trial June 10 on that charge.

According to earlier reports, Brock’s criminal record includes a conviction for solicitation of murder in Coconino County, Ariz., where she was sent to prison on Nov. 27, 1987, and released on Dec. 13, 1990. She also has five Tarrant County convictions, including two assault with bodily injury cases.
