Cole Stevens pitched five-plus innings as four Cats pitchers held the McAllen Thunder to five hits in a 9-0 shutout at LaGrave Field Tuesday night.

It was the fifth straight win for the Cats, who have played only home games so far this season.

Tim Maitland and Aljay Davis each scored two runs as the Cats capitalized on 11 walks from four McAllen pitchers in the game.

Designated hitter Jose Canseco went 0 for 3 with a run scored, an RBI, two walks and two strikeouts in his fifth game with the Cats.

Stevens threw 5 2/3 innings allowing three hits with no walks and two strikeouts.

T.J. Bozeman and Jorge Rodriguez threw 2 1/3 perfect innings in relief before Hector Contin pitched the final frame.

Despite the lopsided score, only David Bergin had more than one hit for the Cats as the Thunder hurlers gave up at least two free passes apiece.

Jackson Yede started and threw one inning for McAllen before being relieved by Patrick Drulain who walked four and gave up four runs.
