Big 12 conference officials will convene Tuesday in Irving with an eye toward solving issues related to future bowl affiliations, college football playoff ramifications and NCAA legislation.

But the primary highlight of the annual spring meetings, which conclude Friday, will be the disbursement of 2012-13 league revenues to the 10 member schools, including TCU, that are expected to be the largest of any league this year.

In January, Forbes magazine projected this year’s disbursements would be $26.2 million per school for Big 12 members, the largest per-team figure among BCS-affiliated conferences. League Commissioner Bob Bowlsby has said that estimate is not exact but remains “in the ballpark” with actual distributions expected to be announced later this week.

During the four-day meetings, league officials also are expected to discuss a revamped bowl lineup for the 2014 season, the first to be played under college football’s playoff format. The initial national championship game of the playoff era will take place Jan. 12, 2015 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, with the Arlington-based AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic becoming part of the playoff mix in the 2014 postseason as well.

Other anticipated topics of discussion include a proposed football scheduling alliance with the Atlantic Coast Conference, issues related to NCAA legislation and the potential makeup of the selection committee that will finalize the annual four-team bracket during the College Football Playoff era that begins with the 2014 postseason.
