The Fort Worth Cats’ game Friday night against the Edinburg Roadrunners was postponed because of rain. The game will be made up today at LaGrave Field as a part of a doubleheader beginning at 6 p.m.A home run derby will take place between games. The derby will feature Cats’ designated hitter Jose Canseco facing his brother, Edinburg manager Ozzie Canseco. Jose will team up with Cats’ first baseman David Bergin and Ozzie will team with Roadrunner DH Carlton Salters.In Thursday night’s season opener, the Cats used strong pitching and a late rally to defeat the Edinburg Roadrunners 4-0. Cats designated hitter Jose Canseco went one for three with an intentional walk and two strikeouts.Edinburg starting pitcher Justin Klipp held the Cats scoreless through six innings, striking out 14, but Fort Worth rallied for two runs in the seventh and two in the eighth.Fort Worth starter James Giulietti gave up no runs on two hits in four innings. Stephen Nikonchik and Chad Robinson finished the shutout out of the bullpen. Nikonchik came away with the win.
