Westlake to pay tribute to veterans

Westlake’s annual Decoration Day, A Salute To Those Who Serve Our Great Nation — Past & Present, begins at 5 p.m. May 27 at Westlake Academy Campus, on the town green and gym, 2600 J.T. Ottinger Road.

The event is presented by the Westlake Historical Preservation Society.

This year’s highlights include guest speaker Brian Fleming, Afghanistan War Veteran, Wounded Warrior, 2010 Purple Heart Hall of Honor Inductee and best-selling author and speaker; and North Texas Patriot Guard Riders: Honoring our Fallen Heroes and our Military Service Members.

The event will have childrens activities, a pie eating contest and food will be available for purchase. Blankets and lawn chairs allowed for outdoor seating.
