One person killed in Fort Worth crash

FORT WORTH -- An elderly motorist was killed Sunday afternoon in two-vehicle wreck on Granbury Road, police said.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

Emergency crews worked for several minutes to get to the victim, who was trapped in the vehicle, said MedStar spokesman Matt Zavadsky. Once inside, crews found the victim dead.

She was identified as Willowdean Parker, 86, of Fort Worth, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website on Sunday.

The wreck was reported about 12:15 p.m. Sunday in the 6300 block of Granbury Road.

The victim who was driving a 1999 Oldsmobile was attempting a left turn from the 5300 block of Wendell onto Granbury Road and failed to yield right of way, poclie said. Her vehicle was hit by a Dodge pickup that was on Granbury Road, police said.

Police are investigating the crash.
