Everman High School reached its goal of having all seniors pass the exit-level Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills exam, so all 263 students will graduate together in June, said Everman school district Superintendent Jeri Pfeifer.

Results from the April retest of the exit level standardized exam were released on Tuesday and the last three students who still needed to pass the TAKS were successful, said Nita L. Page, Everman High principal.

“All three of the students cried. They were just overhwhelmed. All three of them are going to be the first in their families to graduate from high school. That’s why it means so much,” Page said.

In White Settlement schools, the sole student with an outstanding test also passed. And Birdville schools knocked the number of seniors who have not passed from 65 to 41, a spokesman said. The next retest is in July.
