Imagine living in Hillsboro and working in Fort Worth, or working or shopping in Dallas and the suburban cities that make up the Metroplex.

As mayor of Hillsboro, I see the advantage to our city and our residents to be able to do this. Being able to get to medical appointments or even attend schools without an hour or more of driving, if you’re able to avoid the congestion and highway construction, would be greatly beneficial.

However, our hopes hinge on the high-speed system servicing Hillsboro and going to a central location (not southeast Dallas), which is D/FW Airport, and an alignment favorable to our city (the Texas 360 corridor), where we can take the light-rail system of DART and passenger rail trains of The T to reach our ultimate destinations with ease.

It needs to go directly into D/FW Airport, where we have a whole world of travel choices.

— Edith Omberg,

Hillsboro mayor
